Rock the Shot: Favorite Shot of 2012

I LOVE macro photography! My passion for photography started when I discovered on my film camera that my lens had a little switch that let me "zoom in really close." I bought magnifiers and tried to figure out how to get even closer. That was years ago and I have learned so much since then. This past year I purchased a 105mm 2.8 Nikon Macro Lens and have fallen in love.

I was photographing a fun little frog in my garden the day I took this picture and then decided to do a walk through of my yard. I found this spider web with the most amazing water droplets! I took quite a few pictures that you can find here, but there was just something about this one. I love the way the water looks like it is floating through the air. I am so proud of this picture!

Friendship ~ The {V} and {B} Families

A hug is worth a thousand words. A friend is worth more.
~ Charles Caleb Colton ~

I had such a blast with this session! Now, contrary to all of the pictures you've just seen, this wasn't just a friendship photo shoot for these little best friends. (I just couldn't help but share all of those sweet moments.) There was also another little cutie running around too! And she had a little stuffed animal friend that she loved to pieces! Wherever she went, her bunny went too! So stinkin cute! I had a wonderful time spending the morning with these three little cuties and their amazing families! Thank you for letting me capture the precious friendship your families share!

Natural Beauty: A Frosty SC Morning

Mornings are not my best time of day. It is such a struggle for me to wake up, especially if it is extra chilly out! Today, however, I had a break through…. give me something fun to photograph and I am wide awake!  I saw another photographer post some amazing frosty photos and wanted to try it out too! I have found that you never know what the weather is going to be like here in South Carolina, so when I heard a cool frosty morning was on its way I literally jumped out of bed at my chance. :)
I'm glad I did! Enjoy the frosty fun!

I Heart Faces: Best Face of 2012

Hello 2013 and a new year of photo challenges from I Heart Faces! This little guy was the sweetest and I had such a blast taking his photos in October. He was all smiles throughout the session and look at those eyes! At this point in the session he was in the middle of acting out a little saying.  His parents would say "so big, so smart, so strong" and at the end he'd put up his muscles. So cute!

Head on over to http://iheartfaces.com to check out some of the Best Faces of 2012!

The Breau Family

Happy New Year!!! I can't think of a better way to kick off the new year than by photographing this wonderful family! You might remember the little cutie from his 6 month session back in October! You can check out those pictures here and how much he has grown! Our session was filled with lots of smiles, love, and baby laughter. Thank you for letting me capture a moment of your lives!

I just love this cute little face!
